Armstrong Jeune Interviews A brief tete-a-tete with Armstrong Jeune lead singer of NY All stars Armstrong Jeune, lead singer of NY All stars at their grand debut party which was held on Friday, November 10, 2000 at Planet Malibu. Which path is Armstrong following? What does he foresee for NY All Stars? Read on and find out!
KD.COM - What do you think of NY All Stars first debut? ARMSTRONG - The outcome is great I really did not expect so many people on a rainy night. I won't say too much about tonight I will instead let the fans and critics express their opinions. Needless to say I am extremely pleased with the outcome. KD.COM - Why did the members decide to form NY All Stars? What is it that you guys are reaching for? ARMSTRONG - We decide to form this group because of our love for music, and our goals to exceed at a high level with Compas. KD.COM - Why was the name NY All Stars chosen? ARMSTRONG - The name came from all of us, since we each have already made our name in the industry one way or another, and everyone in the band is basically a star. We named the band NY All Stars, meaning all of the stars in New York are participating in this band. IW.COM - NY All Stars is formed with talented musicians such as Shedly Abraham, Yves Abel and Makarios Cesaere, who have been in many bands prior to this, why do you think these guys will establish a definite home with NY All Stars? ARMSTRONG - We will establish a definite home in NY All stars, because we have the same goals and we are following the same paths. NY All Stars will make it because the members felt like a new band was overdue in the New York area. IW.COM - How do you think bands such as Zin will take this debut? Do you think they will feel threaten, and feel that you guys are invading their territory? ARMSTRONG - We are not here to take anyone's place, or invade anyone's territory. We are here to satisfy the thirst of the Compas fans and we are here to fill the wide gap in the music industry. KD.COM - What is your opinion on Alan Cave, lead vocalist of Zin, and King Kino, lead vocalist of Phamtoms? ARMSTRONG - Most of the singers in the market are exellent, and at the same time unique in their own styles and ways. The fans might find something in me that is missing in them, and vice versa, but we are all talented in our own way. KD.COM - How was your experience with Tabou Combo? ARMSTRONG - I had a wonderful experience working with the members of Tabou Combo and it was also an honor for me to partake in their 30th album. I look forward to working with Tabou Combo in the near future. KD.COM - How did you feel when Shoubou gave you a standing ovation? ARMSTRONG - I felt honored for a legend such as Shoubou to acknowledge my skills and i also have tremendous respect for him. KD.COM - What is the future of Armstrong Jeune? The fans are confused, if they need to see you, where should they look for you? ARMSTRONG - NY All stars is my home, so if they need to watch me perform, check me out at NY All Stars; it is my home. IW.COM - When should we expect your next album? ARMSTRONG - Right now we are concentrating on performing and getting our acts together. We will focus on an album in the few months coming. IW.COM - How long have you guys been performing together? ARMSTRONG - This is our first debut in public together, however we have spent many weeks rehearsing together. KD.COM - What do you foresee in the future of NY All Stars? ARMSTRONG - I see NY All Stars crossing over with our Compas rhythm. That is my dream and the dream of every members of the band. KD.COM - What are your last words for your fans? ARMSTRONG - I would like to thank them for the support, I will work harder to fufill their needs. Please look out for NY All Stars next album.
